Chicago (retroactively known as Chicago II) is the second studioalbum by the American rock bandChicago, released on January 26, 1970, by Columbia Records. Like their debut album, Chicago Transit Authority (1969), it is a double album. Featuring tracks fromthealbum “Chicago XXXVII: Chicago Christmas,” it blends original songs and festive standards like “What the World Needs Now Is Love” and “Sleigh Ride.” Chicago II (2017 Steven Wilson Remix). For their second album, Chicago shortened their name (from Chicago Transit Authority) and broadened their sound. “Movin’ In” and “25 or 6 to 4” are brassy pop songs with a big band makeover, bristling with punchy horns and driving bass.
